MARUJA KAKISTOCRACY

Manchester four piece Maruja share their new EP Knocknarea, featuring sprawling post-rock jazz track 'Kakistocracy'. Translated as 'rule of the villains', the lead track is a slow burning epic, guitars, sax and incoherent howls gradually building to towering heights of discordant noise that calls to mind post/math rock bands such as Physics House Band and For Breakfast. The band describe the EP in their own words, "Knocknarea'is a jazz sprinkled, alternative rock EP which commands elements of EDM and Punk. Each song has been spawned from improvisation sessions and crafted to create a sound unlike another. Maruja demonstrates their diversity throughout this EP, taking the listener on a journey through a plethora of emotions." Check out the EP and catch them at their upcoming live dates in London on 18th May and Manchester 19th May. -Toby Evans-Jesra
